WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

RASHGUARDS

To preserve the elastic integrity of your technical rashguards, always use a cold wash cycle. Avoid fabric softeners as they can clog the moisture-wicking fibers.

SHORTS

Ensure all velcro closures are secured before washing to prevent snagging. Hang dry only; high heat from dryers can damage the lightweight performance fabrics.

CASUAL WEAR

Wash casual items inside-out to protect screen-printed details. Use a mild detergent and wash with similar colors to prevent any dye transfer.

Washing, Care & Maintenance

Yaega rashguard sets are made using a performance polyester/spandex blend, designed for stretch, compression and movement during grappling.

To keep your gear in good condition, follow the care instructions below.

After Training

Do not leave your rashguard or shorts sitting damp in your gym bag.

After training:

  • remove from bag as soon as possible

  • turn inside out

  • air dry if you cannot wash immediately

  • avoid leaving wet gear in direct heat or sunlight

Sweat, bacteria and trapped moisture can damage fabric over time and cause odour build-up.

Washing

Wash after every training session.

Recommended:

  • wash at 30°C or cold

  • wash inside out

  • use mild detergent

  • wash with similar colours

  • use a gentle or sportswear cycle where possible

Avoid washing with rough items such as towels, Velcro, zips or heavy cotton garments, as these can cause pilling or fabric damage.

Do Not Use

Avoid:

  • bleach

  • fabric softener

  • stain removers containing bleach

  • harsh detergents

  • tumble drying

  • dry cleaning

  • ironing over prints or logos

Fabric softener can reduce stretch, moisture-wicking performance and fabric recovery.

Drying

Hang dry only.
Do not tumble dry.
High heat can damage the spandex fibres, reduce compression and affect the shape of the garment.

For best results:

  • reshape while damp

  • hang in a ventilated area

  • keep away from radiators or direct high heat

Protecting The Print

To help preserve print quality:

  • wash inside out

  • avoid high heat

  • avoid abrasive washing loads

  • do not iron printed areas

  • do not scrub the print aggressively

Sublimated prints are designed to sit within the fabric, but proper care will help maintain colour and finish over time.

Odour Control

If odour builds up:

  • soak briefly in cold water with mild detergent before washing

  • wash promptly after training

  • allow the garment to dry fully before storing

Do not use bleach or harsh chemical soaks.

Storage

Store clean and completely dry.
Do not store damp.
Avoid leaving the garment compressed in a gym bag for long periods.
